Friday, February 5, 2016. We have been busy at Baldwin since we returned from Winter Break! All of the children have been reacquainting themselves with their friends and classmates and with the expectations set out by their teachers for each of their classes. Every year, Austin schools participate in selecting a Teacher of the Year.

Thursday, October 24, 2013. I met recently with a group of middle school principals from the area. We meet a few times of year to discuss our schools, the state of education, and what new and interesting initiatives are challenging us at the moment. I am happy to report that Ripon Middle School and the district in general still maintain a prominent position among area schools. We are ahead of the curve. The latest endeavor that will take us to new heights is the incorporation of Advisory period at RMS.

Sunday, May 27, 2012. Last week the Government announced changes to teacher staffing ratios that will increase class sizes and result in the loss of 500 teacher positions every year for the next five years. I am struggling with this concept as it will reduce the amount of time teachers have with individual students and put pressure on schools to find more money to reduce class sizes themselves.
